Begin with your goal

# What do you mean by recovery?

Give “recovery” a meaning in your own life. Is the question about returning to an activity, an injury, or how you feel day to day? Bring that question to the assessment.

## Questions to work through

Describe the change you want.

Try a sentence such as: “I want to get back to this activity, and this is what is stopping me.” Use your own words. A product name can wait.

Separate a goal from a treatment claim.

Ask what the proposed medicine is meant to change. Ask how the clinician would judge whether it helped. Leave space for an answer that does not involve a medicine.

Keep the exact name from the offer.

Save what the offer says it will help with, the ingredient’s name and how the medicine is given: by tablet, injection or another way. “Peptide treatment” alone leaves too much to ask about.

## An assessment can change the plan

A video visit is an example of telehealth, meaning care without sharing a room.

Medical-board advice, checked September 17, 2026, says the clinician must arrange any tests or examination needed to assess you.

This advice helps medical boards draft state rules; your visit follows the rules set by the relevant state. An assessment does not promise a prescription.

## Keep a small note for the visit

Write what is happening, what makes it harder and what you have already tried. Bring questions about other approaches alongside the question about peptides.

Keep this thought

Describe the problem first. Then ask why a particular treatment belongs in the plan.

This advice helps state medical boards write care rules. Your state sets the rules your doctor must follow.
